Who We Are
The Nurses Ministry is a movement of Catholic nursing professionals committed to continuing the caring and healing ministry of Jesus Christ under the patronage of the bishops.
In times of sickness and suffering, every person longs for love, support, and compassionate care. Guided by the Holy Spirit, nurses are called to bring comfort and hope to those who suffer, helping them encounter the healing presence of God.
Nursing is a vocation of care that spans every stage of life, from the womb to the tomb. When nurses recognise the sacred calling within their profession, they can become instruments of Christ’s healing love, leading the sick and suffering towards the Divine Healer, Jesus Christ.
Melbourne West Chapter
Established in 2017, the Melbourne West Chapter continues to serve the nursing community through faith, fellowship, and compassionate service.
- Approximately 110 nurses in the chapter
- 11 Service Team members
- 2 State Team representatives
Spiritual Formation and Support
The ministry guides and supports nurses in their spiritual journey and their pursuit of holiness through:

This is lived out through loving, caring, witnessing, and reaching out to nurses in need — a spontaneous and gracious effort to extend the healing touch of the Lord.
Our Spiritual Activities
Daily intercessory prayer for nurses worldwide • Praise and worship • Monthly Chain Rosary on the 13th of every month.
MAY FEST – 13th May, Dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima
Celebration of “May Fest” on 13th May, dedicated to our heavenly patron, Our Lady of Fatima
During May Fest, nurses gather to celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Fatima after completing 33 days of Fatima Consecration preparation. They consecrate themselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mother Mary.
Both International Nurses Day and May Fest are celebrated together.
