How SMYM Melbourne West group was formed?
The Melbourne West leadership team was formed at the SMYM Youth Leaders’ summit itself. We had banded together and assigned each other with our respective leadership positions since we all had attended the leadership summit. From the camp we brought our team back to Melbourne West where we are active now.
On the first Saturday of June our little group from the west, together with the guidance of three wonderful ladies from the SMYM North teams, got the chance to celebrate our first youth led English Mass. Being fairly new to these norms, it was an amazing opportunity for us to learn how it works in order to carry it out ourselves. With God’s grace, things went smoothly on the day after just one practice together. Going forward, though we are still learning, we plan to lead English masses every second Saturday followed by bible study/discussions.
